How Influencer Marketing Can Make Your Brand a Success

Choosing the Right Influencer for You

Social media influencers can have a big impact on your brand. Choosing the right person to promote your product can lead to an exponential increase in brand awareness and sales. Choose poorly, and your brand could be sullied with a poor reputation.

Knowing your market is key. How else will you maximise exposure? An influencer popular among your demographic can help your brand gain fast recognition in the age of social media, shorter attention spans and less trust in the traditional media. Nielsen says audiences trust influencers, who can then promote your product naturally. If you don’t have the budget for a traditional advertisement campaign, then influencers are who you should be looking at, whether you sell a product, service or organise events.

How Can an Influencer Help Your Brand?

YouTube is a great hub to find influencers. There are influencers like Casey Neistat with millions of subscribers and views, as well as thousands of smaller influencers. Finding one which scales to your size shouldn’t be hard. There will be channels that can promote your brand within your range.

To use Neistat as an example, he extensively featured a product called the Boosted Board; a motorized skateboard. It was first featured in his videos on July 22nd 2015. The Digital New Report found there was disdain for pre-roll ads. By incorporating it into his video, Neistat advertises the product indirectly. A Google trends search shows that the top related queries from 07/22 until the present day to do with Neistat was ‘boosted board’. Neistat has been a huge influencer for the company, Boosted.

Supplements are the go-to product promoted on Instagram, with even celebrities such as Khloé Kardashian posting about them to her fifty-nine million followers. According to Google trends, the searches for ‘Instagram supplements’ have grown steadily since 2012, and saw a large jump in 2014. If you find any model on Instagram, and they will most likely have multiple posts promoting supplements to aid weight loss or muscle growth. If you offer a service, then inviting influencers to use your service for free is a great way to gain exposure for your brand.

So Why Use an Influencer?

In short, influencers can boost your brand because their audience trusts them. Posts on social media accounts allow your brand to receive promotion across multiple platforms. It’s a more engaging way to advertise, and is likely to bring you a better return on investment. Word-of-mouth is an important ally in the world of social media, where opinions travel fast and can make or break your brand.
