Webber was kept overnight for observation following his heavy accident in the FIA World Endurance Championship season-ending Six Hours of Sao Paulo. Matteo Cressoni, the other driver involved in the accident, has also been released.
Webber was diagnosed with some bruising and a concussion in the high-speed crash, which was triggered by a suspected failure of some kind to his Porsche 919 Hybrid.
Webber’s now set to return to the U.K. later this week.
“I’m quite sore this morning and am pretty bruised and have got a stinking headache,” Webber said while in the hospital on Monday. “I’ve got no recollection of the accident or how it happened – the team is looking into the details to find out more.”
Webber was greeted in the hospital Monday morning by motorsport legend Emerson Fittipaldi, who served as the event’s promoter and also took part in Sunday’s race.
Fittipaldi also made a visit to 8Star Motorsports driver Matteo Cressoni.
“On a positive note it’s great that the boys in car no. 14 managed to bring home the victory which is a fantastic way to finish off the season,” said Webber.
“I’m already looking forward to getting out there again next year.”
