The McAfee CIO Executive Drive conferences were developed to bring Fortune 100 CIO’s, CTO’s, and top technology executives together for a day of speed, challenge, and dialogue.   From the very beginning the problem that McAfee was having was their difficulty in getting top level executives together in an environment that was conducive to fun, but its overall opportunity was in opening dialogue and communication between parties to build relationships that moved forward in business.   The entire days events were created to service that need.

The conference itself was driven around a day at the track learning to drive and having fun driving some of the top exotic cars in the world.   Who hasn’t thought it would be fun to have that experience once in your life???   We gave them the opportunity.

We hosted the events within a short drive from major metropolitan area’s so the executive would not be required to be away from the office for more than a day.

The events were built to host approx. 36-42 executives, and they had the opportunity to drive 6 exotic sports cars (Porsche Turbo, BMW M3, Ferrari F430, Lamorghini Gallaro, Audi R8, and a Corvette) at speed.   Why did we do this was two fold 1) to allow everyone to drive every car over the course of the day, and 2) so we always had 5 executives standing in each line waiting for their turn….why…because it opened the door to have casual conversation to get to know these guy’s over the course of the day.    Out of 809 hours there was lots of getting to know you time for both the guests as well as McAfee executives.

Next we created a number of great marketing tools and customer relationship development tools that were focused on building that relationship both during and after the event.   A great example is the Personalize Photo album delivered to the executives office after the event (1-2 weeks later) by the sales staff.   It hosted personalize photos of the days events and was a very personal momento branded with the client and McAfee’s brands.
